About the experience "Make a typical Sardinian mask"

Between the past and the present, magic and religion, drama and comedy, the origins of the mask have been lost over the centuries, yet are connected to man's desire to change his identity and immerse himself in fantasy.

Making a mask is therefore a suggestive way to retrace the evolution of various eras and peoples, and represents the ideal mirror through which cultures and traditions are reflected.

This experience aims to present a theoretical and practical basis of the origins, traditions, history and evolution of the mask in Mediterranean culture.

The theoretical basis deals with the explanation of the use of the mask dating back to ancient times in the local region (itinerant theater groups from the Middle Ages), noting the various influences from other Mediterranean cultures (Greek, Phoenician-Punic, Latin and southern Italian culture) .
