An exponent of a family of Assisi traditionally dedicated to the craftsmanship of terracotta, Doriana discusses her creative horizons and her stylistic and artistic influences in the field of ceramics, while demonstrating the various stages of the creation and decoration of ceramic artefacts.
Doriana represents the fifth familial generation dedicated to the working of artistic ceramics.
All the sculptural processing phases are done manually, and are carried out inside my laboratory. We shape, model and finish each object created which, naturally (depending on the shape or use), requires different finishing operations: burrs, smoothing, attaching handles, exporting cutouts, and so on. To create all the objects shaped either on the lathe or by hand using other techniques, it is important to include functionality and a complete aesthetic-traditional ideal in a single concept. For the forms we mainly propose inspirational and traditional objects.
- A tour with instruction in the workshop.
- An historical background of Assemini as a ceramic center is given
- Explanation of the craft methods used
- Use of the lathe to create a typical product which will then be delivered to you
- Languages spoken by the local: Italian
- Child ages 8 to 14
