In a landscape pristinely framed in a union of the unsullied, pure mountain environs and the nearby pearls of the Mediterranean, the Island of Capri and the Amalfi and Sorrento coasts, meet the descendents of generations of vintners. Andrea and Salvatore have kept the Campania wine-making traditions intact, and together with the farmers, their team will accompany you step-by-step during the exploration of the vineyards, the vineyard operations, picking of the grapes and their processing into wine.
Walking entire rows to observe the growth of the shoots, you will encounter the perfume of the vineyard and observe the grapes that hang, ready for harvest. Collecting the clusters from the vine with your own hands and placing them in special baskets, to be then emptied into vats, you will crush the grapes with your feet, respecting the traditional, ancient methods of extracting the must from the grapes, which is to be then transformed into wine.
The baskets full of grapes, the crushing by foot, and the slow movement of the press recall memories, by now long passed, all of which is accompanied by the music, the song and the dances typical of the grape collection tradition.
Vital to this experience is the figure of the forefather, "Nonno Ciccio". With his experience as a farmer and the stories that accompany a lifetime, he will propel you into the colourful reality of the peasant by transmitting the love for his labour and the strong bond with his land. He will tell you the story of Vesuvius, acquaint you with the fascinating life of the Black Land, and with the other excellent fruits and vegetables that it gives us: Piennolo cherry tomatoes, plums, apricots, oranges, figs, mulberries, peaches, etc ... After the crushing of the grapes, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a typical Campanian lunch. The lunch is included in the cost of the experience.
The estate on which the experience is held lies within the Vesuvius National Park, in the municipality of Terzigno, a few kilometers from the excavations of Pompeii and Herculaneum and the Sorrento and Amalfi coasts. Its position is the ideal destination to taste the dishes and products of the typical Campanian cuisine and the famous Lacryima Christi wine, and can be undertaken between a visit to the excavations of Pompeii and a climb to the crater of Vesuvius.
