The sediments, or lees, in enology is the residue deposited after the fermentation of the wine, formed mainly by the remains of yeasts and by potassium salts and calcium of tartaric acid. In the past they were used to paint Italian fabrics. The natural color of this processing sediment also allows you to paint with the same techniques of watercolor.
The Cantina dell'Averno is a winery and agritourism company, located near the shores of Lake Averno, an enchanting place surrounded by lush greenery and overlooked by the temple of Apollo.
Lose yourself in this magnificent place and paint using the sediments with a watercolour technique. You will be provided all the necessary materials and are accompanied and guided along this unique journey. Dive into the past, in contact with nature and history. The silence of this location will allow you to find a dialogue with your inner world and to give voice to your creativity.
After the creative experience we will have lunch together and taste the local specialties and wines of the winery. At the end of this experience you can bring your watercolors and lees with you, to continue exploring this new practice.
